Samuel Semenu Dzehor, founder and artistic director of Nyame Adom Dance Ensemble started his career as an artist in Traditional Dance. At the age of twelve he joined the Hashiebaloi Cultural Troupe and despite several attempts of his parents to stop him from carrying on his ambition his anxiety/eagerness carried him through for six years with Hashibaloi where he not only learnt to sing Folk Music but to play drums and percussion as well. Later Samuel Dzehor decided to broaden his scope joining the People's Cultural Troupe, where in two years of intensive training he got acquainted with numerous Ghanaian and Togolese traditional dances, and yet another dance troupe of high calibre for  another 4 years where he studied still more dances from the West African subregion.

When in January 1990 he finally decided to establish his own dance and folk music troupe, immediately youths in the neighbourhood were gathered around him were gathered and taught the importance of traditional music and dance. Years of scrutiny helped to select young talents among the lots in order to form an ensemble. In 1992, Dzehor embarked on another research work into background and development of Ewe dances in the Volta Region of Ghana and Togo, which enabled him both to restructure his ensemble and to suit modern taste at the same time. Since then numerous performances have been done. Dzehors continued interest for Guinea and South African traditional dances enabled him to further enlarge the repertoire of the troupe.

His choreographies are unique in combining and suiting contemporary, modern and traditional dance forms. Today Nyame Adom can be counted among one of the best dance ensembles in Ghana. Samuel Semenu Dzehor's future aims and objectives are the establishment of a dance and music school, the extension of  the troupe's repertoire beyond Ghana, and to attend festivals outside Ghana in other to compare and exchange ideas and compete with other existing dance groups to enhance growth.
